Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Soong Siew Hoong 95 th Birthday Celebration
ERA organised a buffet dinner at Sheraton PJ Hotel on 18th Dec 2019 to celebrate the grand occasion of ERA Honourary Advisor Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Soong Siew Hoong’s 95th birthday.
A total of 67 persons joined this special occasion, which included ERA members, ACCCIM members and non-members. This is the first time that the birthday dinner was organised on a buffet style to allow the attendees to move freely to interact with one another.
To add to the joy, a special ‘sau-pau’ basket was arranged, coupled with the ice-cream cake donated by the hotel. To further cheer up the night, Ms Toh Bee Ling teamed up with guitarist Mr. Paul Tan to give a few sentimental songs.
A mutual friend of Tan Sri from China took the opportunity to present Tan Sri with a special gift. Tan Sri also received a donation of RM1,000 towards ERA Trust Fund from Mr. Allen Cheong.
The respected Tan Sri gave a thank-you speech and wished peace and unity for the nation. He also wished good health and success to everyone through hard work and determination.
The Organising Chairman of this birthday celebration dinner was ERA Vice-President Wong Lian-Kee, and was assisted President Roger Lye, Paul Tan, YF Cheah, Toh Bee Ling, LT Lim, Pansy Lim and Prame Kumar. The emcee of the night was Ms Ng Su Fun.
The surplus from this birthday celebration dinner was contributed to ERA.
